 Pre & Postpartum Training

Our pre and post partum group sessions are designed to keep pregnant mums-to-be strong and new mums returning to exercise safe and confident.

Your body is doing the most physical job it's ever done in the most de-conditioned state it's ever been.

Our classes are run by Flick, a Mum of two and fully qualified and experienced coach who has been working with Mums for 14 years. Sessions are the perfect reintroduction to exercise & rebuilding your body from the inside out.

Are you pregnant?

Are you a Mum with a baby 12 months or younger?

Have you had your 6 week Dr check up?

Are you 6 weeks post vaginal delivery?

Are you 8 -12 post caesarean delivery?

Have you seen a Women’s Health Physio?
Are you a Mum who hasn't returned to exercise since having a baby (years ago)?

Want to move but not sure what the safest way to go about it is?

If you answered YES to any of these questions that’s where this FlickPT Pre & Post Natal program comes in.

 The pre and postpartum program

Returning to exercise after baby can be daunting or you might unsure how to move safely whilst pregnant!

Your body feels and looks different. Your boobs are leaking. You've had huge abdominal surgery, perineal tearing or stitches. You're bleeding. You're hair is falling out. You're sleep deprived, you cry for no reason and think will you ever get back to doing something for yourself again?

All these postpartum challenges are NORMAL. We get it!

At FlickPT we don't run "Mums + Bubs" classes. Our classes are NOT a bunch of exercises thrown together which you can do and bring your baby along.

They DO:

  • Assist to help you love and cherish your amazing pre & postpartum body

  • Shift the focus of "getting your body back"

  • Focus on rebuilding you from the inside out (pelvic floor + abdominal separation)

  • Stretch tight muscles to assist with posture

  • Strengthen weak muscles

  • Focus on a progressive program

  • Work with Women's Health Physio's & other health professionals

  • Train outside for Vitamin D

  • Have each mum to fill in an extensive health screen asking all questions about birth, recovery & more then contacting appropriate health care providers

  • Fully understand what it is to experience sleep deprivation & modify session's for mums accordingly

  • Allow space for mums who experience any post natal mental health issues

  • Create a space that is safe, confidential, non judgemental, welcoming and warm for new mums

  • Allow for nappy changes, breastfeeding, bottle feeding, pram pushing and crying

 Program Information

The term program only requires one session per week commitment.

Why? In past experiences training new mums, we have realised sometimes just getting out the door is a marathon, so we keep this program extremely achievable with the potential to expand when you are ready after the term.

Our classes are run by coach Flick who has over a decade of training mums, is a mum of two and holds a qualification to work safely with pre & post natal mums.

Sessions are the perfect reintroduction to exercise, rebuilding your body from the inside out and moving safely during pregnancy.

We currently work closely with local Women's Health Physiotherapists, they are our 'eyes on the inside' to ensure each individual mum is assessed and working to HER level whether you are 6 weeks, 10 months or 5 years postpartum.

Our WHP gives us guidelines around pelvic floor, DRAM and more so that exercises are tailored to where our mum is on her journey right now. Laying a strong foundation to rebuild in early postpartum or during pregnancy.

Those who secure their spot will be apart of a mum's only Facebook community group for the term which gives you access to:

  • Tips & info all things pre & postnatal training

  • Importance of a WHP & a list of our referrals

  • Basic anatomy for all thing pelvic floor, traverse abdominals & abdominal separation

  • A weekly home workout

  • Support from other like minded mums

  • A space to share your journey
