The world is obsessed with recovery tools right now.
Ice baths, saunas, foam rolling, massage guns, muscle sprays, float tanks and compression boots just to name a few š¦
All these strategies definitely assist in aiding recovery and feel bloody good too. But if you aren't sleeping and fuelling your body correctly chances are you aren't going to reap the rewards of all your training and hard work šŖ
The most important recovery tools are....
FOOD + SLEEP! š
Unfortunately you can't massage away poor nutrition and dehydration and you certainly can't jump in a ice bath and add to the sleep bank.
FOOD + SLEEP have to be priority when talking recovery.
To rebuild, restore and repair you need to focus fuel for muscle repair and growth and restorative sleep is where the magic happens. (post partum mums are at a higher risk of injury due to lack sleep) š¤
So before spending ample time (and money) on the fancy stuff make sure you go back to the basics.
